Local dignitaries and library personnel gathered in downtown Lake Elsinore to see the first chapter of the new library take shape.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The City of Lake Elsinore dug deep last week, ceremonially breaking ground for the next chapter of the Lake Elsinore Library.
"Thursday marked a historic moment as we officially broke ground on the future Lake Elsinore Library, a space designed to enhance education, accessibility, and community engagement for years to come," a city spokesperson said over social media news release.

Though the community anxiously awaits the new building at the corner of Main Street and Sumner Avenue, the current library serving the Lake Elsinore community is located at the Outlets, 17600 Collier Ave, Suite G170. It will remain open until the new library is completed sometime in 2026.

This state-of-the-art facility is made possible by a $10 million grant awarded to the City through the Building Forward Library Facilities Improvement Program in October 2023. The program aims to support the modernization of library services and enhance community engagement in California’s cities.
According to Lake Elsinore City Manager Jason Simpson, the new library will be 10,000 square feet and serve as a vibrant, modern hub designed to meet the diverse needs of Lake Elsinore residents.
