Lakeside High School Carjacking: Sheriff's Department Reports Arrests

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A carjacking at Lakeside High School Tuesday afternoon ended with the arrests of two people, including a juvenile.

A female victim told Lake Elsinore deputies that two male suspects gestured that they were armed and forced her from her vehicle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were immediately called to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. but the suspects had fled in the carjacked vehicle.

A call went out to alert law enforcement agencies about the incident, and it was deputies stationed out of the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station who spotted the stolen vehicle heading north on Interstate 15.

A short chase ensued, but the suspects crashed near the I-15/state Route 91 interchange and tried to make a run for it on foot before being quickly caught, according to the sheriff's department.

Tevita Fifita, 19, and a juvenile, both of Lake Elsinore, were taken into custody. Information about booking charges was unavailable.

An update on the victim's condition was not provided.
