A rifle was used in the robbery in the area of Central and Collier avenues.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — One of two men who robbed a Lake Elsinore resident on a street with a rifle was sentenced Monday to five years in state prison.
Alfredo Dominguez, 24, of Perris pleaded guilty in May to armed robbery under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. A related sentence enhancement was dropped in exchange for Dominguez's admission.
During a hearing at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta Monday, Superior Court Judge John Monterosso certified the plea deal and imposed the sentence stipulated by the prosecution and defense.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Robert Thomas, on the afternoon of Oct. 13, 2022, the defendants confronted the victim in the area of Central and Collier avenues, demanding his money and other personal property while holding a 9mm rifle on him.
The man handed over his valuables, after which the defendants fled in a vehicle, Thomas said.
The victim immediately called 911.
Patrol deputies tracked down the getaway car hours later to a property on Club Drive in Perris, where a search warrant was served, the sergeant said, adding that "stolen items" and the rifle were seized from the vehicle.
Calderon and Dominguez were taken into custody without incident.
Court papers show Dominguez had a prior misdemeanor conviction for hit- and-run resulting in property damage. Calderon had no documented prior convictions in Riverside County.
