Railroad Canyon Latest: Major Work Complete, Finishing Touches

Here's the latest on this major roadway project.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Motorists whose routes take them along Railroad Canyon Road can breathe a sigh of relief. Lake Elsinore city official say "all major project work" related to the road's widening project is now complete.

The city issued an update this week. Here's the latest from the city of Lake Elsinore:

Crews have completed the lane striping layout and striping should be complete by the end of next week. The project will be mostly complete by the end of June.

The City would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to our citizens and commuters for your patience and understanding throughout this project. While we faced many challenges due to the weather, for the most part this project went as expected and delays were minimized as much as possible.

The City is working on some additional finishing touches that will take place in the next few months including minor beautification and landscaping improvements to the median, installation of new signal ahead signs and poles, the addition of a new High Friction Paving Treatment on a couple of curves that are designed to reduce speeds and improve safety along the roadway, and the paving of Summerhill Drive from Railroad Canyon Road to Canyon Estates Drive.

Stay tuned for more details about these enhancements. Moving forward, only minor lane closures are expected.

Next up for Elsinore is the I-15 Railroad Canyon Road Interchange Project, with construction expected to begin in about one year.
