Railroad Canyon Widening: Night Work Starting, Caution Urged
Here's the latest on the Railroad Canyon Road Widening Project.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Lake Elsinore city officials on Friday warned area motorists to plan ahead for the latest round of work on the Railroad Canyon Widening Project. With nighttime work slated to begin Saturday, commuters are asked to choose alternative routes whenever possible.
Here's the latest on the project via the city:
Night work on the Railroad Canyon Road Widening Project is planned to begin this Saturday, May 11th, and will continue until Friday, May 17th with no work expected on Sunday.

Night works hours will be from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Work will start at the Railroad Canyon Road and Grape Street intersection for the first three nights and then move to the Railroad Canyon Road and Canyon Hills Road intersection.
Daytime work is also planned next week. Work will include back filling the new sidewalk on the Westbound side and relocating a signal pole.

Closures are expected all week in both directions. However, the impact should be reduced based on planned activities. Crews will continue to try to keep closures to a minimum whenever possible.
REMINDER: Slow for the cone zone. Please remain vigilant of posted speed limits and be cautious in construction zones, particularly during these night hours.
