Rattlesnake Bite Reported Off I-15 Near Elsinore Poppies

Fire officials say the victim was rushed to the hospital following the weekend incident.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A person was hospitalized over the weekend after being bitten by a rattlesnake in Lake Elsinore, according to fire officials. Their condition was said to be stable following the incident.

It happened around 4:35 p.m. Saturday along the southbound Corona (15) Freeway at Lake Street — near the famous poppies of Elsinore, according to fire reports.

The patient was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance, fire officials said.

  • Keep bite area below head and heart.
  • Remain calm until help arrive
