Suspect Escapes After Trying To Kill Deputy: RSO

"The suspect is currently outstanding. Apprehension efforts are underway," the Riverside County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday night.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A suspect who allegedly tried to kill a deputy Tuesday night remains at large, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff's office said the attempted slaying occurred in the area of Pats Ranch Road and 68th Street in Jurupa Valley. The office asked the public to avoid the neighborhood amid a search for the suspect.

"Please stay clear of the area," the sheriff's office asked. "The suspect is currently outstanding. Apprehension efforts are underway."

However, early Wednesday morning the office said deputies concluded the search without success.

"Apprehension efforts will continue until the suspect is arrested," the agency said.

The deputy was not hurt, according to the agency.
