Southwest Riverside House Fire Displaces Family Of 7

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

PERRIS, CA -- A house in Southwest Riverside caught on fire Wednesday afternoon, displacing a family of seven. The incident was reported at 1:32 p.m. in the intersection of 4th and C streets in Perris, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Officials said the fire scorched through a 1,500-square-foot single-story home. Eleven firefighters and three engines responded to the incident and extinguished the fire in about 16 minutes.

The family of five adults and two children were safely evacuated, officials said.
