1 Injured, Traffic Stalled For Miles In 5 Freeway Crash In Lake Forest

The crash was reported at 12:34 p.m. on the Interstate 5 freeway near Lake Forest Drive, according to authorities.

LAKE FOREST, CA — At least one person was injured and traffic was stalled for miles on the Interstate 5 freeway traveling north through Lake Forest, the California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.

At least one person was injured in the crash. The status of the injured person is not currently known.

The crash was reported at 12:34 p.m. Tuesday after a white minivan stalled in the carpool lane on the freeway near Lake Forest Drive. A car crashed into the stalled minivan and resulted in at least three lanes on the freeway being closed by authorities.

As of 1:17 p.m., traffic traveling northbound on the freeway was stalled for roughly six miles.

Residents were advised to steer clear of the area while CHP officers investigate the scene.
