Crews Knock Down Fire Near Irvine Lake
Low winds aided firefighters' Friday brushfire battle.

ORANGE, CA — Orange County firefighters have contained a five-acre brushfire that broke out Friday afternoon near Irvine Lake.
The fire ignited about 1:10 p.m. along Santiago Canyon Road between Modjeska Canyon and Silverado Canyon roads, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Ben Gonzales.
Firefighters were calling the brusher the "Williams Incident."

The blaze was fueled by medium to thick brush, but "luckily, we didn't have too much wind," Gonzales said.
Firefighters attacked the flames from the air and on the ground, and got a ring around it by 3 p.m.

No structures were threatened, and no one was injured.
