Lawn mower swap season has returned to Southern California.
Residents who sign up for the South Coast Air Quality Management District's "Mow Down Air Pollution" program can trade in their working gas-powered machines for cordless electric ones.
Since 2003, more than 43,000 gas mowers have been retired by the AQMD and sent to junkyards, the agency said in announcing its 10th annual exchange program.
