Wrong-Way Driver Dies In Head-On Crash In Irvine: Police

IRVINE, CA — A man died Monday after crashing head-on into another vehicle while driving on the wrong side of the road in Irvine.

The crash was reported around 1:35 a.m. on Jamboree Road, south of Warner Avenue, according to the Irvine Police Department.

A man behind the wheel of a Hyundai Elantra was driving south in the northbound lanes of Jamboree when he slammed head-on into another vehicle, police said.

The Hyundai's driver, whose identity was not immediately released, was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died, police said. The other driver was not injured.
