LA MESA, CA — A wind advisory is in effect Monday for La Mesa.

The advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday for the county's mountain and valley areas, including the cities and communities of El Cajon, Escondido, Julian, La Mesa, Pine Valley, Poway, San Marcos and Santee, according to the National Weather Service.

East winds from 20 to 30 mph are expected with gusts up to 55 mph in those areas, the NWS said.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," forecasters said. "Tree limbs could be blown down."

The NWS advised residents to use extra caution when driving, especially in high-profile vehicles, and to secure outdoor objects.
