Apply Now For Part-Time Orinda Summer Camp Positions
The application window is open for high schoolers and others interested in working for Orinda Parks and Rec this summer.
ORINDA, CA — The Orinda Parks and Recreation Department is preparing to hire several people as staff members for its summer camps which run June 3-Aug. 9.
The positions are seasonal and include a camp director, two camp coordinators and multiple camp counselors. Competitive salaries are offered for all three positions, the department said.
Another plus: since the work schedule consists of weekdays only, all summer camp staff have nights and weekends free.

Camp Director
The person hired for this role assists the recreation coordinator in the administration of summer camp staffing, programming, training and camper/family relations. The camp director works 40 hours a week during summer and part-time leading up to summer.

Camp Coordinators
People chosen for this role oversee either Camp Orinda or Camp Orinda, Jr. Camp coordinators are also responsible for the day-to-day operations of their assigned summer camp, supervise camp staff, and lead all their assigned camp’s activities every day. Camp coordinators work at or near 40 hours a week.
Camp Counselors
People in this role assist, plan, organize and lead the physical, recreational and social activities of multiple camp programs. Camp counselors may have the ability to work 40 hours in a certain week depending on the assignment. Age requirements vary per position, but camp counselors must have completed their freshman year of high school by summer.
Interviews
The top applicants will be selected for an interview; camp counselor applicants will be asked to attend an in-person group interview from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, or Thursday, April 11.
Applicants for the camp coordinator and camp director positions are interviewed individually.
