Chase Ends In Lamorinda, Prompts Manhunt For Suspect: Police
The suspect ditched the car once the pursuit entered Lamorinda, police said.
LAFAYETTE, CA — Road closures were briefly in place Tuesday in Lafayette when a pursuit ended in the city, and law enforcement officers were involved in a manhunt for the suspect.
Shortly after 5:37 p.m., the Lafayette Police Department issued an alert about the police activity. The California Highway Patrol pursued a driver onto Pleasant Hill Road near Old Tunnel Road, police said.
The suspect was involved in a collision and "footbailed," Lafayette police said.

As a result, there was a heavy police presence, including a K-9 team and a helicopter crew.
Police closed Pleasant Hill Road from Old Tunnel Road to Olympic Boulevard and urged the public to use an alternate route and to call 911 if they saw anything unusual.

By 6:15 p.m., the suspect was in custody and the roads were reopened, police said.
Patch could not immediately reach a CHP spokesperson late Tuesday for further information.
