Prescribed Fire Operations Underway Near Highway 24: MOFD

Smoke may be visible to residents and passing motorists as crews burned piled material Tuesday.

LAMORINDA, CA — Drivers on state Highway 24 in Orinda may see smoke Tuesday from prescribed fire operations.

From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., fire crews with the Moraga-Orinda Fire District were expected to burn piled material along Wilder Road near SR-24.

The prescribed burn area is within the Tunnel/East Bay Hills Shaded Fuel Break.

Residents may also see or smell smoke. Closing exterior doors and windows helps keep smoke from entering homes.
