LAMORINDA, CA — Sleepy Hollow may get smoky Friday from a prescribed burn.

In preparation for Friday's burn, firefighters installed a fire hose into the canyon behind Singingwood Lane on Thursday. If conditions remained favorable, firefighters would begin burning around 10 a.m. Friday and should be finished by 4 p.m., the Moraga-Orinda Fire District said.

Some smoke may be visible to residents in the surrounding neighborhoods, MOFD said.

Residents were advised to close exterior doors and windows to keep smoke from entering their homes. The project was coordinated with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to ensure the burn was conducted safely and with minimal smoke impacts.

"Safety is our number one priority," MOFD said. "If burning conditions become unfavorable the project will be rescheduled."
