See Smoke? Prescribed Fire Operations Continue Near Highway 24

The Moraga-Orinda Fire District announced pile burning in the Tunnel/East Bay Hills Shaded Fuel Break.

LAMORINDA, CA —Firefighters were expected to continue prescribed fire operations Monday at Wilder Road near Highway 24.

Firefighters will burn piled material from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Tunnel/East Bay Hills Shaded Fuel Break, the Moraga-Orinda Fire District said.

Periodic updates will be posted on social media. MOFD also planned to have the project shown live at AlertCalifornia.org.

Tunnel East Bay Hills Shaded Fuel Break

The Tunnel/East Bay Hills Shaded Fuel Break project area encompasses 1,223 acres of wildland-urban interface lands where MOFD conducts wildfire fuel reduction and clears vegetation to create fuel breaks by prescribed burning, manual vegetation management, mechanical treatment, prescribed herbivory treatment and herbicide application.
