1 Dead, 1 Injured In Crash On Altamont Pass Road Sunday
The deadly crash involved a motorcycle and truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Altamont Pass Road was closed Sunday night between West Grant Line Road and Carroll Road in rural eastern Alameda County following a fatal crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver of a motorcycle was killed and an occupant of a pickup truck taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley for treatment of serious injuries after the collision on Altamont Pass Road a mile and a half east of the Altamont Landfill, the CHP said.
The collision scene is about a quarter mile north of Interstate Highway 580; Altamont Pass Road runs more-or-less parallel to the freeway over the pass. The accident was reported at about 4:50 p.m. today. The motorcycle involved landed in a ditch, and the pickup truck down a ravine off the roadway.

The Alameda County Coroner was called to the scene. No other details about the accident or the victims was immediately available.
