BART Extension To Livermore: Public Hearing Tonight
BREAKING: Residents will have the chance to ask questions about the proposed extension of 5.5 miles of track along I-580.

LIVERMORE, CA — A public hearing is being held this evening in Livermore so people can comment on a draft Environmental Impact Report for a proposed BART extension in the city, BART officials said. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Larkspur Room at the Robert Livermore Community Center at 4444 East Ave.
The proposed extension consists of 5.5 miles of track along Interstate Highway 580 to a new station near the Highway 580/Isabel Avenue interchange, according to BART officials. Starting at 6 p.m. at an open house at the community center, residents will have the chance to ask some questions about the proposal's
various alternatives, including a no project alternative, one where trains would be powered by diesel engines, and conventional BART service.
The proposal also consists of ideas for new and modified bus service to get people from BART to places such as Altamont Corridor Express stations and places to visit in Livermore.
