UPDATE: Firefighters Clear Scene After Smoke Evacuates Building
Fire crews on Tuesday searched a business on the 200 block of Mountain Vista Parkway after light smoke was seen coming from an HVAC unit.

Firefighters on Tuesday afternoon evacuated the Niles Machine and Tool Works building after smoke was seen coming from an HVAC unit.
Emergency crews were sent to the business on the 200 block of Mountain Vista Parkway, off Las Positas Road and near Greenville Road, at 2:40 p.m.
When firefighters arrived on scene, light smoke was seen coming from the building, officials said.

Firefighters evacuated the business as they searched the building for a cause of the smoke.
It was later determined that oil may have got into an HVAC system, which caused the unit to heat up and create smoke, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.

Firefighters cleared the scene at around 3:40 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
