City Looks To Hire Public Works And Community Development Directors

The city is also looking to fill several other positions, including one for an Information Technology Coordinator.

LIVERMORE, CA — The city of Livermore is looking to hire new Public Works and Community Development Directors, according to a social media posting by the city over the weekend.

In the Oct. 8 Facebook post, the city said it was looking to fill the two open positions with people who "thrive in an organization with a culture of excellence" and who "lead with kindness and compassion."

"If you are looking for an agency that strives to deliver high-quality, attentive and courteous services to its residents and businesses, then this might be the opportunity for you," the city said, adding that becoming an employee of the city meant doing "important, significant work" that would directly affect the lives of Livermore's more than 87,000 residents.

The city has teamed up with the external recruiting firm Peckham and McKenney to fill the positions.

Requirements for the Community Development Director position, which pays up to $239,351 annually include eight years of increasingly responsible professional Community Development related experience with four of those years at a managerial level, and a BA in public or business admin or a related field, though an MA is desirable, according to the job listing which can be found here.

Requirements for the Public Works Director position, which also pays up to $239,351 a year include eight years of increasingly responsible professional public works related experience with four years at a managerial level, and a BA in public or business admin or a related field, according to the job listing which can be found here.

The city, which offers a benefit package including relocation assistance, Retiree Health Savings Account, long term care insurance, along with contributions to medical, dental, and vision insurance is also looking to fill an Information Technology Coordinator position, along with several police officer positions and more.
