Coroner IDs Livermore Woman Killed While Walking On I-580: Report
Callers indicated the woman walked in the center divider, and on the road and shoulder.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau identified the woman killed Sept. 2 while walking on Interstate Highway 580, Pleasanton Weekly reported.
Traci Lee Joiner, 54, of Livermore was struck by a car, the paper reported.
The California Highway Patrol said I-580 drivers began calling in to report a woman walking in the center divider, and on the road and shoulder beginning 3:40 a.m.

A report at 4 a.m. said the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle, which then pulled over to the right shoulder. One witness said the pedestrian jumped in front of the vehicle, according to the CHP.
The crash prompted CHP to close the right three lanes of the westbound six-lane highway near the interchange of North Livermore Avenue.
