East Bay Regional Park District Looking For New Lifeguard Hires

Lifeguards are needed throughout cities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

LIVERMORE, CA — 50 new lifeguards are needed for the 2022 swim season at 10 East Bay swim facilities. The East Bay Regional Park District said in a news release lifeguards are needed at lakes, lagoons, and pools throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

The full-time positions are seasonal from May through September. Anyone 16 years old and over can apply before April 23. The starting pay is $20.17 per hour.

"Promoting water safety and educating park visitors on how to safely recreate in, on, and around the water is paramount in what a lifeguard does,” East Bay Regional Parks District Aquatics Manager Pete DeQuincy said in the release. “Working as a lifeguard is one of the few ways a young adult can give back to their community and learn about public service.”
