Firefighters Clear Smoke Caused by Heater Fire

Firefighters quickly cleared smoke from a home after a 4-year-old girl accidentally placed a newspaper into a floor heater, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Jack Neiman-Kimel said.

At 7:43 a.m. Tuesday, emergency crews responded to a report of a possible structure fire at the 1500 block of Fifth Street, near South P Street.

The small fire extinguished on its own and no injuries were reported in the incident, Neiman-Kimel said.
