Free Bus Rides To Tri-Valley COVID-19 Vaccination Sites

The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority is indefinitely launching the new service.

TRI-VALLEY, CA — The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority will offer free rides to and from COVID-19 vaccination sites in Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore.

The authority announced last week that the program will stay in effect until further notice, and take riders for free to vaccination sites such as hospitals and pharmacies, according to a LAVTA news release. Riders should come prepared to show the bus operator digital proof of their same-day vaccination appointment to have fees waived.

More than 20 public transit agencies across the Bay Area are participating in a similar effort, LAVTA said.

“As an essential service, LAVTA has continued operations and has provided needed transportation to essential workers and the general public, many of whom have no other reliable form of transportation," said Bob Woerner, who chairs the LAVTA board, in a news release. "Providing free rides to and from vaccination sites will help ensure that all persons have access to be vaccinated in a timely manner.”
