Handgun, Ammo, Meth, Heroin Found In Car In Livermore: LPD

The two suspects were trying to buy a pickup truck after midnight, police said.

LIVERMORE, CA — Two suspects were arrested in Livermore after police said they were found with a handgun, ammunition, illegal drugs, and stacks of cash.

On May 8 just after midnight, Livermore police received a call from a woman selling her pickup truck who was concerned about a prospective buyer who wanted to look at her car at such a late time. Officers located the buyer’s car, and say they found 31 grams of methamphetamine and heroin, a 9-millimeter handgun, and ammunition inside. A photo from the department also shows at least $580 in cash.

Deldato Herrera, 51 of Oakland, and John Via, 59 of Oakland, were arrested and charged with multiple narcotics and firearm offenses, police said.
