Hometown Pride: Livermore Has An Official Song

LIVERMORE, CA — Thirty years ago, a Livermore-born lyricist made his love for the city official.

Yes, Livermore has an official city song: "Livermore, CA," written by Livermore local Steve "King" Stewart and produced and recorded by Byron Allred.

Stewart wrote about his love for "the rolling hills across the fertile plains" and morning sunrises, with dewdrops on the vines. "You will taste the sunshine in our Livermore Valley wine," as the song goes.

The original cassette is now part of the Livermore Public Library's local history reference collection and is not available for checkout.
