Hundreds Rally In Livermore Against Trump, ICE
A large crowd gathered Saturday at Livermorium Plaza to protest recent actions in Venezuela and the death of Renee Good.

LIVERMORE, CA — Roughly five hundred demonstrators gathered at Livermorium Plaza in downtown Livermore Saturday to protest recent political controversies, including the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, and the shooting of a Minneapolis woman at an ICE protest.
The protest, one of scores around the Bay Area, was organized by Livermore Indivisible, which has organized several other anti-Trump protests in the city.
“It’s easy to be disheartened by the near constant news of the illegal and unjust actions being committed by the current administration,” Livermore Indivisible Steering Committee Member Keith Hatschek said in a statement.

“By exercising our First Amendment right to peacefully protest today against those actions and to speak out in support of our immigrant friends and neighbors, we hope to show our community that we care for one another and that we stand up to demand justice and the rule of law, and to say no to autocracy and to tyranny.”
Attendees included State Senator Aisha Washab, a Marine Corps veteran, and numerous Livermore residents, according to organizers.

On Thursday, more than 100 people gathered at Delucchi Park in Pleasanton for a candlelight vigil to mourn the loss of Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of three killed in a shooting involving ICE agents in Minneapolis. Demonstrators held candles and sang songs in protest of the shooting, which occurred as Good tried to drive away from officers at a protest. The Trump administration has alleged that Good tried to run over ICE agents before an officer fired at her, a claim contradicted by state officials.
The Pleasanton vigil followed a number of protests around the Bay Area. Hours after the shooting of Good, hundreds of protesters rallied in San Francisco outside ICE offices downtown, and later, a march was held in the city's Mission District.
On Saturday, about 450 people gathered at Ocean Beach in San Francisco to spell out, "It was murder, ICE out!!"
