I-580 Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Arrested On DUI Suspicion
A 21-year-old was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing a fatal crash, police said.

ALTAMONT, CA — A 66-year-old Tracy man was killed and a 21-year-old Stockton man was arrested in connection with a two-vehicle crash on I-580 eastbound Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 4:45 a.m., CHP officers were called to the scene of a crash on I-580 west of Grant Line Road. Officers discovered that a white Honda Accord driven by the 21-year-old collided with the back of a black Tesla Model Y, driven by the 66-year-old.
The driver of the Tesla suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP said. The driver of the Accord sustained moderate injuries, and was transported to Valley Medical Center for evaluation.

CHP said it believes alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor in the crash. The driver of the Accord was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
