Livermore Council To Consider Sanitation Rate Increase

The Livermore City Council will consider a requested rate increase to take effect in July.

LIVERMORE, CA — On Monday, the Livermore City Council will consider approving Livermore Sanitation’s request to increase rates by 3.68 percent, effective July 1.

An agreement approved in 2020 allows Livermore Sanitation, Inc. (LSI) to adjust rates according to an index-based methodology, which considers percentage changes in the consumer price index and percentage change in disposal fees, according to a city staff report. LSI found that its total calculated costs are projected to reach $33.2 million, a 3.68% increase from the previous year.

Livermore residents currently pay anywhere from $32.76 to $99.80 per month, resulting in increases of $1.21 to $3.67 per month.
