LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore police are seeking a suspect believed to be responsible for killing two people over the weekend. Livermore police say these shootings mark the city’s first and second homicides of 2024.

On Saturday at around 6:45 a.m., Livermore police responded to a report of a shooting at the La Quinta Inn on Southfront Road, according to the Livermore Police Department. Police arrived to find a 26-year-old woman from Oakland and a 21-year-old man from Hayward shot inside a room. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Livermore detectives identified 30-year-old Yonston Vazquez of Oakland as a suspect. Police say Vazquez knew one of the victims, and that he is at-large, and should be considered armed and dangerous.
