This marks the first in-person Livermore Pride Festival since the 2019 event, which drew thousands from the Bay Area, Central Valley and Sacramento area, organizers said. The 2020 event was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While most Pride events are held during June — LGBTQ+ Pride Month — organizers said Livermore Pride holds its event in October in honor of LGBTQ+ History Month.

"Ending isolation is one of our core tenets, and supporting our community with this annual festival is one of the best ways we can do that right now,” said Amy Rose, Livermore Pride executive director, in a statement. “It’s a way to support our community’s mental and physical health during what has been a devastating pandemic, and begin healing through cheer and joy.”

Guests are asked to get vaccinated and wear masks unless eating or drinking.
