Livermore Residents Mostly Satisfied With City: Survey

Most Livermore residents expressed high satisfaction with quality of life, but not as many said they were happy with local government.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore residents are very satisfied with their city, according to the results of the 2025 National Community Survey. The survey was conducted by the National Research Center at Police, which randomly selected 3,000 Livermore households. 374 of those households replied, and responses were weighted to ensure representation across age, gender, race, ethnicity, housing status, and geography.

According to the survey:

  • 95% of respondents said they were satisfied living in Livermore.
  • 91% of respondents said they were satisfied with Livermore's overall quality of life.
  • 83% said they experienced an overall feeling of safety in Livermore.
  • 91% expressed satisfaction with the quality of the natural environment.
  • 87% were satisfied with the availability of paths and walking trails.
  • 87% were satisfied with the vibrancy of the downtown and commercial area.
  • 86% were satisfied with Livermore as a place to visit.

Confidence in government services was notably lower, including satisfaction with value of service for taxes paid (60%), overall direction of the city (60%), the job the city does at welcoming resident involvement (61%), being open and transparent to the public (53%), and informing residents about issues facing the community (50%.) The survey noted that these results were either similar or higher to national benchmarks.

Economic outlook satisfaction increased 15% since 2022, business variety satisfaction increased 9%, and resident connection and engagement with the community improved eight percent.
