Livermore Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested: Hayward PD

Three suspects are accused of committing a total of 11 robberies throughout the Bay Area, including an armed robbery at a gas in Livermore.

LIVERMORE, CA — Hayward police collaborated with the Livermore Police Department and several other agencies to arrest three men accused of committing 11 robberies, including an armed robbery at a gas station in Livermore in January.

Three suspects - Jaray Washington, 42 of Oakland; Cameron Watkins, 24 of Oakland; and Deante Hunt, 26 of Concord - were taken into custody with assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service. Washington is accused of 11 robberies, including seven in Hayward, one in Fremont, one in San Leandro, one in Castro Valley, and one in Livermore. Watkins and Hunt are accused of committing two robberies with Washington.

On Jan. 31, Livermore police responded reports of an armed robbery at the Exxon Gas Station on First Street in Livermore. Officers learned that a suspect, later revealed to be Washington, allegedly pointed a gun at the gas station employee and demanded money. Washington then allegedly stole merchandise and the employee's cell phone before driving off.

In the other 10 robberies, at least one suspect brandished a firearm, according to the Hayward Police Department. In some cases, suspects moved employees and/or customers to other parts of the business and forced employees to hand over cash at gunpoint. Suspects also forced employees and customers to hand over personal property at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.

Hayward police collaborated with Livermore police, as well as the FBI, U.S. Marshal’s Service, and police departments of each of the cities listed above to track down the suspects.

“I want to thank the detectives for their hard work and coordination with our allied agencies,” Livermore Police Chief Jeramy Young said on Twitter. “Jaray Washington is a violent repeat offender who has been previously convicted for armed robberies in the South Bay Area. We will be tracking this case as it moves through the criminal justice system.”
