Livermore Rodeo 2021 Canceled Due To Coronavirus Concerns
Organizers hope to come back stronger in 2022 and host another western-style event that can be safely executed.
LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Stockmen's Rodeo Association has pulled the plug on the 2021 Livermore Rodeo due to ongoing concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.
Gatherings around sporting events remain off-limits in Alameda County, and public health officials continue to advise that the public maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently, avoid large gatherings and stay home, wrote association President Sheila Fagliano in a statement.
The event typically includes a parade through downtown, rodeo queen and princess competitions, and riding and roping contests.

The association's board of directors hopes to create another western-themed event that can be safely executed, in accordance with the health order.
This marks the second consecutive year that the association has called off the event due to coronavirus concerns. Last year would have been the 102nd annual event.
"Please stay safe during this unsettling time," Fagliano wrote.
