Livermore Rodeo Week Of Festivities Begins
One of Livermore's favorite traditions includes steer wrestling, bull riding, a parade, and a week full of events.
LIVERMORE, CA — One of Livermore’s oldest, proudest traditions is gearing up for another year of bucking broncos and down home fun. The Livermore Rodeo returns this weekend with jam-packed days of events like steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and a grand parade.
There are a number of events leading up to the actual rodeo. On Wednesday starting at 5 p.m., the Robertson Park Arena will host the 44th Annual Mixer & Team Branding, which will feature branding, live music, and a Tri Trip BBQ dinner.
On Thursday, there will be a free local Team Roping Slack starting at 6 p.m., followed by a performance from the Diablo Ladies Drill Team.
On Friday, enjoy another free Pro Rodeo Slack performance at the Robertson Park Rodeo arena at 8 a.m. Friday.
Later that day, the Cowgirl Luncheon will feature silent auctions, New Steak lunch, a commemorative wine glass, and more.
The official festivities begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, when a parade of horses will march through downtown Livermore as part of the Livermore Rodeo Parade. See here for more information.
Soon after, gates open at 11 a.m. for Day 1 of the PRCA Rodeo, which will feature Saddle Bronc and Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. Grand entry begins at 3 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear pink in solidarity with breast cancer survivors.
Day 2 will feature the same shows at the same times. Guests are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue in support of men and women in uniform.
