Livermore School Board Member Kristie Wang Running For Council
Wang kicked off her campaign for District 4 of the Livermore City Council.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore School Board member Kristie Wang kicked off her campaign to represent District 4 on the Livermore City Council on Wednesday, June 12. The kickoff event at Almost Famous Wine included current Vice Mayor and District 4 representative Bob Carling, who is terming out and has endorsed Wang’s campaign.
Wang is a public policy professional with a masters of public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government who began her career in foreign policy in Washington, D.C. She has lived in Livermore for 17 years with her husband and two children, where she has been active in several community organizations and boards. She is the co-founder of Flavors Addict Kids, which helped restrict the sale of flavored tobacco and electronic smoking products from Livermore, volunteered for Tri-Valley Haven, and much more. She has served on the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Board since 2020, and represented the school district on the Intergovernmental Committee that includes the City of Livermore, LARPD, and Las Positas College.
Wang named housing affordability, traffic, and infrastructure maintenance as some of her top priorities.

“As your council member, I will be ready on day one to apply the knowledge, experience, and networks acquired through my community service, activism, and school board trustee work. I’m a good listener and problem solver. I will be a strong representative for you in District 4 and will work with my fellow council members and regional leaders to ensure Livermore is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive,” she said in a statement.
The kickoff event was attended by current Livermore Councilmembers Brittni Kiick and Evan Branning, School Board Member Steven Drouin, Alameda County School Board Vice President Cheryl Cook-Kallio, Zone 7 Water District Board Director Sarah Palmer, former Councilmember Gina Bonanno, and former Congressman and current State Senate candidate Jerry McNerney.

Wang’s candidacy has been endorsed by the entire Livermore City Council and LVJUSD Board, as well as Congressmember Eric Swalwell, Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, County Supervisor David Haubert, and many more.
