Free Livermore Event: Greet 2022 With 'Polar Bear Plunge'

LIVERMORE, CA — Feeling like kicking off the new year with an icy splash and cup of cocoa? Registration is open now for the free Polar Bear Plunge in Livermore.

The Livermore Area Recreation and Parks Department will host the event from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center.

Guests must wear swimwear and slide down the center's slide into the chilly waters of the catch pool to qualify for a cup of hot cocoa.

"Challenge yourself to take the plunge like a polar bear," the parks department said.

Anyone four feet or taller is welcome to register for the event. Guests must RSVP in advance.
