See Livermore's Peak Wind Gusts Amid Blustery Start To Week
Monday was an unusually windy day in the Bay Area, where power lines were toppled and thousands were without power.
LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore saw peak wind gusts of 38 mph Monday, when high winds prompted a planned power shutoff south of the city near Lake Del Valle.
Nearby Mount Diablo saw a peak gust of 49 mph Monday, according to the National Weather Service Bay Area. It was tied for third place in a list of peak 24-hour wind gusts published Monday night.
The windiest spot to be? Near the Los Vaqueros Reservoir in eastern Contra Costa County, according to the weather service. Mount Saint Helena in the North Bay and Santa Rita in Salinas saw the second-highest winds at 53 mph.

As some of our winds reduce into the night, the Wind Advisory will be allowed to expire.
But winds will be persistent enough in higher elevations and drier areas, allowing for the Red Flag Warning to continue.

High winds were expected to continue Tuesday in the Bay Area's highest elevations. Officials allowed the red flag warning to remain in place, meaning any wildfires sparked could quickly spread due to dry, windy conditions.
