Special Olympics Torch Coming To Livermore
On Thursday, Livermore police officers, firefighters, and Olympians will carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope through downtown.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Special Olympics Northern California torch is again passing through Livermore Thursday. Crews from the Livermore Police Department, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, CHP Dublin, and special Olympians will carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope from the Nob Hill parking lot to the Livermore Police Department headquarters.
The crew will be departing the Nob Hill parking lot on the Taco Bell side at noon Thursday. They will then run along Railroad Avenue to South S Street to First Street to Livermore Avenue, ending at the police department. The public is invited to watch and cheer them along.
After stopping in Livermore, the flame will arrive at the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games at Santa Clara University. From June 28-30, athletes from around the world will compete in swimming, track, bocce, and tennis. See here for more information.
