Tara Boyce, LVJUSD Parent & Business Consultant, Runs For School Board
Boyce said her business expertise and experience advocating for her own children make her a strong candidate.

LIVERMORE, CA —LVJUSD parent and business owner Tara Boyce is running for one of two open seats on the LVJUSD Board of Education.
Boyce is a finance MBA who runs Kush Solutions LLC, a consulting firm that advises businesses on how to run more efficiently. She feels this experience can help at a time when the school district is navigating potential painful budget cuts.
“I’ve spent my career helping inefficient companies creatively problem solve,” Boyce said in a statement. “Now I want to use my expertise to help my own children’s school district during this financially difficult time so that our students still have excellent educational experiences.”

“It is critical to do all we can to keep reductions away from the classroom,” she said. “We can focus on eliminating redundancies and creatively stretching existing funding along with identifying new funding to serve our school community.”
Boyce has two children at Junction Avenue TK-8 School. She said she was also motivated to run after trying to advocate for a child with learning challenges due to a medical condition.

“While navigating the multiple channels at the school and district level, my thoughts kept going to other children that may be struggling but may not have a family member to advocate for them. I will strive to be that advocate for all children,” she said.
Boyce grew up in Pennsylvania, and obtained a BA in economics and political science from Wilkes University, and an MBA in finance from the University of Scranton. She has lived in Livermore for 13 years, and volunteered for Tri-Valley Haven.
Her candidacy has been endorsed by Livermore Education Association, Livermore Advocates for Public Education, former LVJUSD Board Member Kristie Wang, LVJUSD Board Member Craig Bueno, former Councilmember Patricia Munro, and Councilmembers Brittni Kiick and Evan Branning.
