Wildfire Outside Livermore Consumed 211 Acres Saturday
Smoke from the fires prompted California Highway Patrol officials to temporarily close westbound I-580 due to lack of visibility.
Alameda County, CA— Cal Fire officials said a fire burning off Interstate Highway 580 in unincorporated Alameda County has grown to 211 acres but is 75 percent contained.
As of 9 p.m., firefighters had managed to keep the Grant Fire, off I-580 near West Grant Line Road, from damaging any structures or causing any injuries, Cal Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Michaels said.
The fire is a cluster of three fires that was first reported just after 4 p.m. off I-580 near West Grant Line Road, ten miles east of Livermore.

The fire had grown to 100 acres by about 5 p.m. and at 6 p.m. a total of 150 acres had burned, driven by the wind, Michaels said. It threatened some windmills in the area.
