Areas To Avoid As 2024 Acura Grand Prix Takes Over Long Beach
Several streets in the Downtown area will be shut down in preparation and during the three-day-long event.

LONG BEACH, CA — The 2024 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach officially begins this month and with that comes several street closures in the Downtown area.
Closures will start Wednesday and will last until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22 officials said. Street closures throughout the week include:
Starting Wednesday, April 17
4 a.m.

- Side streets off Shoreline Drive and Seaside Way leading into the racecourse are closed.
7 a.m.
- Westbound Shoreline Drive is closed;
- The northbound Queensway Bridge off-ramp is closed;
- The southbound Queensway Bridge on-ramp from Shoreline Drive is closed;
- Aquarium Way is closed south of Shoreline Drive.
3 p.m.

- Eastbound Shoreline Drive from Broadway to Ocean Boulevard is closed.
Pine Avenue is open to traffic for visitors to the Hyatt Hotel, waterfront restaurants, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants. Valet parking is available for those dining at waterfront restaurants and regular parking is also available at Shoreline Village. Those parking in the area were advised to follow directional signage.
Visitors can still get to the Aquarium of the Pacific by Chestnut Place or Golden Shore Avenue. However, all vehicles parked in the Aquarium parking structure are required to be out by 3 p.m. on Thursday, officials said.
Friday, April 19 - Sunday, April 21
6 a.m.
- Access to the Hyatt Hotel, Shoreline Village and the Shoreline marina from Ocean Boulevard is closed;
- Southbound Pine Avenue is closed;
- Interior streets of the Pike north of Shoreline Drive are closed;
- Access to the south side of the track is only available to Grand Prix pass holders and those with boat owner permits at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue.
7 p.m.
- Pine Avenue reopens for access to the Hyatt Hotel, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants;
- Valet parking and regular parking at the Marina Green parking lot reopens.
- The entry access point at Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue is closed.
Monday, April 17
At 5 p.m. traffic will reopen at
- East and westbound Shoreline Drive;
- North and southbound ramps of Queensway Bridge;
- East and westbound Seaside Way;
- North and southbound Pine Avenue including Pine Avenue Circle;
- North and southbound Shoreline Village Drive;
- All service roads and internal streets at The Pike.
The Aquarium of the Pacific will remain open for visitors during normal hours and parking will be available at the Queen Mary parking lot. Free shuttles to the Aquarium will be provided, officials said.
