Big Bang On The Bay Returns This Labor Day In Long Beach
The Big Bang on the Bay will happen this Labor Day Weekend after it was postponed in July.
LONG BEACH, CA — The iconic Big Bang on the Bay fireworks show in Long Beach is happening a little late this year to celebrate Labor Day.
Known as the "biggest block party in Long Beach," the celebration will mark the end of summer this year and will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach. Celebrations kick off at 5 p.m. on Sept.1 at the Boathouse on the Bay at 190 N. Marina Dr.
The popular annual Independence Day fireworks show was postponed this year due to a missed deadline preventing the show from going on as usual on July 3.

After the cancellation, the California Coastal Commission worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach to complete the permits needed to put on the show.
The fireworks show typically serves as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs and other local nonprofits associated with Long Beach Gives. The event has raised more than $2 million in the last decade.
