Billy Blanks® Brings Tae Bo® to Long Beach

A special exercise engagement is coming to the Alpert Jewish Community Center on March 16 and 17, 2024. At 9 a.m. each day, the founder of the original cardio-kickboxing class known as Tae Bo® boxing, Billy Blanks® is teaching live classes.

Combining moves from boxing, martial arts, and dance moves, Billy Blanks® originally developed the high intensity workouts in 1976. His workout videos became popular for at-home use in the 1990s, selling over 1.5 million copies of his video series through infomercials, which still rank among top selling cardio fitness classes. Tae Bo® comes from TAEkwondo and Boxing.

Tae Bo® workouts enhance strength, speed, agility, mental awareness, improves coordination, and cardiovascular.

The Tae Bo® live classes will take place at the Alpert JCC (3801 E. Willow St., Long Beach). Limited space is available. Register to take the live class by visiting alpertjcc.org/billyblanks. Classes are $36 or $25 for Alpert Jewish Community Center members.

The Alpert JCC is located on the Weinberg Jewish Long Beach Campus and operated by Jewish Long Beach, providing programming for all ages and stages of life. Known as “Your Center for Life,” The Alpert JCC is a gathering space in which all are welcome to pursue early childhood education, after-school programs, fitness programs, aquatics activities, and summer camp, as well as to engage in Jewish life, culture, and education.
