Bungalow Kitchen Belmont Shore To Host 'Food & Wine: Italy Edition'

LONG BEACH, CA — Bungalow Kitchen Belmont Shore, a Chef Michael Mina restaurant that recently received Wine Spectator’s "2022 Award of Excellence," is taking reservations for "An Evening of Food & Wine: Italy Edition."

The event, planned Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m., will highlight Italy’s Piedmont region and wines with a five-course, wine-paired dinner.

The luxe, Italian-inspired menu from Executive Chef Elliot Drew will include: classic antipasti; yellow melon gazpacho; fusilli alla gricia; and veal braciole with polenta; and vanilla panna cotta with peaches, plums and hazelnut tuille for dessert.

Each course will be paired with Italian wines selected by Sommelier Ryan Kraemer, who holds a Level III Certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Kraemer will be joined by importer Michael Levine, and the duo will lead dines through six different grape varietals through wines from two of the Piedmont region’s boutique wineries including, Montefiorito and Castello di Perno.

“Our wine program ventures far beyond California, enticing diners from a global perspective, with considerable depth in Champagne, Burgundy, and regions throughout Italy and Spain,” Kraemer said. “Our ‘Evening of Food & Wine’ series allows guests to familiarize themselves with specific regions and develop an appreciation for lesser-known varietals.”

Bookings are $195 (plus tax & gratuity) per person. Reservations are limited and can be made online here.

Founded by awarded-winning chef and restaurateur Mina, The Bungalow Kitchen is at 6400 Pacific Coast Highway, at 2nd & PCH in Long Beach. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays and weekend brunch.
