LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach's rich celebration of Khmer culture and tradition returns this weekend with the annual Cambodia Town Parade and Culture Festival.

The free event will take place Sunday, April 6, kicking off around 9 a.m. with a roughly half-mile parade at Orange Avenue and Anaheim Street.

The parade will flow then into Long Beach City College for the festival, where attendees can experience more Khmer culture through food, live music and performances from 1 to 6 p.m.

It is now one of Long Beach's largest community events, according to city officials.

Long Beach has the highest concentration of Cambodians outside of Southeast Asia, according to city officials. In 2007, council members voted to give the name Cambodia Town to a 1.2-mile business corridor that runs through Anaheim Street, from Atlantic to Junipero avenues.
