Gaylord Concedes Long Beach Community College Board Race

LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach Community College District Board candidate Dick Gaylord formally conceded his campaign effort on Tuesday, wishing opponent Ennette Morton well.

Gaylord reached out to Morton Tuesday to congratulate her on her win.

“While there are still a number of ballots left to count, the trend has been consistently clear to me – Dr. Ennette Morton has won the election for Long Beach Community College District Board, Area 4,” Gaylord said. “I called Dr. Morton today to offer my congratulations on her win and to wish her the best with her service to our College District’s students, faculty, employees, and local community. She will do an excellent job.”

According to the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters, a majority of Long Beach's votes have been counted. Results on Tuesday showed Morton leading by about three percentage points with 21,641 votes.
