Giant Statue Of Kid Cudi Appears Off Long Beach Coast
The 33-foot statue off Long Beach was one of three larger-than-life effigies of the rapper to be erected as a promotion for his new album.

LONG BEACH, CA — A massive statue of the rapper Kid Cudi appeared Friday off the coast of Long Beach.
“Earlier today, the City of Long Beach learned that a 33-foot statue of musical artist Kid Cudi arrived in Alamitos Bay,” the city said Friday afternoon in a statement posted on social media.
“The statue has left Alamitos Bay & remains on a barge just off the Long Beach coast where it is expected float up & down the Long Beach shoreline … until approximately 5 p.m. today.”

Similar statues of Kid Cudi, also known as Scott Mescudi, were erected in Paris and New York City to promote his new album, “Insano,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
Kid Cudi was at Fingerprints Music in Long Beach on Friday to sign copies of the album in conjunction with the statue.

“Not something you see every day on the coastline,” the Instagram account empty_drone captioned an aerial video of the statue gliding through the water on its barge.
Over the weekend, the statue was expected to sail through Redondo, Marina Del Ray, Santa Monica and Malibu, according to the Long Beach Post.
